What's In Embiid's Future?

Reigning NBA MVP, Joel Embiid, was asked today on his future aspirations in his career.“I just want to win a championship, whatever it takes. I don't know where that's going to be, whether it's in Philly or somewhere else...It's not easy but every single day I work towards it.”.  This sent 76ers fans into a frenzy but executives for the organization believe Embiid isin't going anywhere. However, if Embiid finds himself in a situation in which he wants to request a trade, the New York Knicks stand out as a destination for the MVP.

Philly Problems?

As of today, Harden has made it clear that he intends to play for the Los Angeles Clippers next season. Harden stated that he wants to play alongside former teammate, Russell Westbrook. The two played together while in Oklahoma City as well as in Houston. Today Shams Charania reported that the relationship between Harden and 76ers president, Daryl Morey is "fractured".

No Pay Day For The Running Backs

The deadline for long-term contract extensions ended today at 4 PM. Many standout players had already been signed to contract extensions but some did not. Star running backs, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Tony Pollard all did not reach extensions with their respective franchises. Instead the players will have to play on the franchise tag that was given to them earlier in the offseason. It had been reported earlier in the week that Jacobs and Barkley would consider sitting out of training camp and potentially even games if a contract was not reached upon. The NFL community did not take lightly of these missed pay days. Superstar running back Derrick Henry took to Twitter to place his opinion. "At this point , just take the RB position out the game then . The ones that want to be great & work as hard as they can to give their all to an organization , just seems like it don’t even matter . I’m with every RB that’s fighting to get what they deserve". Steelers running back Najee Harris also stated his thoughts on the current market of running backs. "I agree with my running back brothers around the NFL- history will show that you need running backs to win- we set the tone every game and run trough walls for our team and lead in many ways- this notion that we deserve less is a joke". Unfortunatly, these star running backs did not get the pay day that they were intending but it will for sure add fuel to the flame for next year.
